    babe, wake up, new #VFX just dropped! im finally able to show off a little bit of what i've been up to at work over the past 1-2 years. this was my first opportunity to work on elemental/combat sets and i'm really proud of everything i've made

    so, enough time has passed now for me to talk about why i decided to leave Blizzard. a mixed year with great teammates, but a management that mistreated, lied to me, gaslit me, gave me a fake promotion, and HR that refused to help. buckle up friendos. 💪

    I met some boomer yesterday at an event and when I told them I was a VFX Artist for video games they literally said "oh right. so when are you going to grow up and get a real job then?" can you imagine saying that to literally anyone of any career?????

    there's something genuinely so inhuman about people saying "youre only scared of AI cus it'll take your job!!!" ... Like ... Yes???? What the fuck is wrong with you? That's not some "ha! Gotcha!". Of course people are scared of losing their livelihoods you fucking parasite??

    i also wanna sincerely thank everyone who purchased a mentorship session or portfolio review with me at the end of last year. it quite *literally* saved me, and meant that I was able to not go into debt and so i am hugely grateful, and hope you all felt like they were worth it!

    I contacted a carpenter/landscaper and they were like "so do you have any idea at all what you'd like to do with the garden?" Me, who has already 3d modelled and also superimposed it onto the garden at scale: "uhhhhh"

    i said I cant survive for 3 months without pay, I have a mortgage and they looked me in the eye and said: "well, you probably shouldn't have signed the contract then 🙂" within a few minutes i was locked out of slack/email, and that was the end of my time at Blizzard. 🎉🎉🎉

    i ask HR if they think that it is ethically okay to pay me less than 50% of every person for doing the same job? they tell me "why would we pay you more than we have to? that doesnt make any business sense" i realise i am talking to a person who doesnt give a shit about people

    okay i literally only saw 1 person notice it, but the other @PlayOverwatch QoL change I made is to Tracer's blink! it's a minor change, but this is to help players track the direction of a blinking enemy as it was easy to miss her VFX completely at close distances! 🎉
