Remember that time when Candlestick Park was closing so they paraded Tommy Lasorda out to give Giants fans one more chance to boo him with “That’s Amore” playing and his name was misspelled on his jacket? That was awesome. #Dodgers #Giants #MLB

How about 83 year old Cookie Rojas out there playing catch with his son Victor. You could see Cookie still has those hands. This is awesome! Baseball is great. #MLB #Royals #Angels #GoHalos #TogetherRoyal
I can’t remember the last time I played catch with my dad. Thankful for being able to spend time with my family for Thanksgiving…these 10 minutes will be cherished forever. #blessed

Anytime I interview someone who played with Tony Gwynn I try to ask for their Tony story. Everyone has one and each is better than the next. This was from this week from Doug Bochtler. Gwynn batted .364 over the three seasons they were teammates. #Padres #MLB

Modern pitching training & theory has taken the 300 game-winner out of the game and the next item going extinct is the Hall of Fame SP. Once Kershaw, Max & Verlander retire, there’s a grand total of 0 SPs in MLB who are slam dunk HOFers & maybe 1-2 who even have a shot.

Helped James Cromwell take his very large suitcase off the luggage carousel at LAX. Couldn’t have been a nicer guy!

Here’s why pitchers’ elbows keep exploding: 🚑 Modern training 🚑 Modern theory 🚑 Minor LG development 🚑 Youth ball 🚑 Pitch clock 🚑 Chasing spin rate 🚑 Chasing velo 🚑 Pitch counts 🚑 No tackified grip 🚑 Less former MLB pitchers coaching 🚑 Training with social media fools

(1/25) went to the Cardboard Classic on Montage Mountain & I’m not exaggerating in saying it’s one of the best things I’ve ever been to. All of these sleds are made with nothing but cardboard, tape & string. I laughed for 5 straight hours. Humanity at its peak. Here’s why:

How cool to talk baseball with Jack McKeon! Heard a good 70 years worth of baseball stories and laughed my ass off. What a wonderful guy and at 92, still sharp as can be!

RIP Larry Biittner. Solid pinch hitter and played some OF/1B too. Was on those Senators/Rangers teams managed by Ted Williams. Here he is hitting a walkoff HR for the #Cubs off Jim Bibby in 1978. Of his 29 career HR over 14 seasons, this was his only walkoff. #MLB

Check out how bonkers Jack Murphy Stadium went when Tony Gwynn got his 2,000th career hit. Insane amount of love for Tony. Scott Sanders is my guest Friday on Spitballin’. He made his #MLB debut this game & got the win. We talk about this & much more, only at BallNine. #Padres

Happy Monday. Here’s a video of Phil Niekro “stealing” second. If that doesn’t make you happy for 16 seconds, I can’t help you. #MLB #Indians #Braves #Yankees
