- 1. Gushing Thanks: A 🧵. The awful riots that shook the nation last week have brought out the very best of us. I’ve a few “thank yous” to dish out. Firstly, to our horses. I choose to be a copper, they don’t and so I’m morally obliged to ensure they have the best life possible.
- I’m not gonna lie, we all had a deep sense of foreboding all morning yesterday. By the second photo we’d got into an “in it together” spirit for what lay ahead. What did lay ahead was a great policing operation with few issues so we had some much-needed light relief.
00:00 - After a football match a few weeks ago some idiots tried to have a fight after the game and Bawtry was punched by one of them. Bawtry’s having the last laugh because we’ve just heard that he’s been banned from football for 3 years.
- Foggy has a bit of saddle-sore from that long, violent clash in Rotherham last Sunday so I’ll be paired up with Big Henry today to give Foggy time to heal. We’re all hoping it’s a peaceful day as we head out to police more protests.

- I saved the most important “mint” ‘til last. Foggy got us into, and out of, some very dangerous situations during the violence in Rotherham. I say “us” because he led the team and gave the other horses confidence to go forward… a true hero in my opinion. Sore healing up nicely.

- Well that was my last day. The whole team, the way of life, the work we do, but most heart-wrenching of all… the horses. I’ll miss it all so much. It’s far better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all though. And yes, I cried like a toddler… and am again.
- Well it’s been a long time coming but my old partner in crime, Treeton, is finally retiring very soon. We’ve found a lovely place in Barnsley where he can just relax in the green pastures and put his hooves up. He’s earned it.
00:00 - 1. If you’ve followed me long enough you may remember this inspirational young lady Stevie visiting the farm. She has a serious rare illness called Batten’s Disease and is severely visually impaired. We proudly hosted her again today and here she is feeding Billy.
