I have had this happen to me. I am thinking that having students read aloud with attention to syntax, diction, pacing and pause-reading aloud a sentence well with no dramatics-maybe the only urgent teaching goal. Have him/her read aloud a passage:)

The wheat in Europe is not hybridized. In the US, wheat has been hybridized. Norman Borloug developed the high-yield hybrid wheat and got a Novel Prize. Einkorn wheat or any wheat from Europe is easy on the gut because it is not hybrid wheat.

Maybe, that can be challenging. I was thinking about reading aloud as a classroom activity in a literature class because it enables us to enjoy the novel at the level of language, and allows students to absorb the rhythm of the sentence unconsciously. Reading sentences is needed
