    Thanks to tips from the community we identifed a suspect in the assault on the Capital Crescent Trail. A short while ago, Anthony Brennan 3rd of Kensington MD was taken into custody on the strength of a District Court arrest warrant. Official press release is available below.

    This evening at Sligo Dennis Park an officer addressed the owner of this vehicle before it had the chance to become a nuisance to park patrons and nearby residents. Remember, amplified music is prohibited in all parks.

    This morning officers conducted a speed enforcement detail on Sligo Creek Parkway in the area of Sligo Creek Golf Course. Please remember, the speed limit on Sligo Creek Parkway is 25mph, not 63mph.

    Beach Drive is closed between Connecticut Ave and Kensington Pkwy and Cedar Ln and Franklin Ave due to flooding. Turn around don’t drown, a car can float in 12 inches of water and can lose control and stall in 6 inches.

    Reports circulating on social media referencing a former MCPD employee as being the suspect in the Capital Crescent trail assault are false. Additional information is forthcoming from the Maryland National Capital Park Police who are heading the investigation.

    On April 10th several vehicles were doing donuts in the parking lot of the Maryland Soccer Plex in Boyds, when asked to leave, a subject pointed a handgun at an employee and then fled. On April 17th, Sam Khojasteh was arrested and charged with assault and other related charges.
