- Best birthday ever! I have my son with me, we toasted with hot chocolate last night at midnight, Dr. Hall, my neurosurgeon said my AFIL Spinal Fusion surgery was a success, and I’m ok to drive now, going back to work at The Bob & Tom Show tomorrow!
- We got the tree up and the only balls we busted were each others!
- Two months after spinal fusion surgery, I'm walking great, pain is gone, so my main focus now is... don’t fall on the ice, don't fall on the ice, don't fall on the ice.
- Things I was wrong about in 2022. Relationships never seem to work out, back pain goes away 3 months after surgery, and Keurig.
- I have a girlfriend who needs to rearrange everything in my place. This morning I found my toothbrush by the kitchen sink instead of in my suitcase.
- I’m on vacation for two weeks, and I’ve been up since 5 am drinking coffee, playing guitar, and hiding from the Covid. Same thing I do at work.
- Tom and I are driving together for the @bobandtom thingy in Des Moines, IA tomorrow. He is searching for my vegan meal in the cooler. (This 20-minute stop is pushing our arrival time to about 7pm.)
- A guitar pick falls out of my wallet at lunch Waitress: “Do you play guitar?” Me: “No, I’m a pick salesman.” Waitress: (blank stare)
- It’s becoming a painful Christmas tradition to have back surgery during the holidays. On December 27th, 2019, I had a lumbar discectomy between the L4 and L5. On December 1st, 2021, I had a Spinal Fusion between the L5 and S1. Maybe next year, Santa could just bring me a cold.
