    Another false narrative in the Netflix McMahon doc: Bret was NOT gonna leave the WWF with the title. He was under contract until December and had agreed to lose the title against someone else than Shawn, and not in Canada. Springfield, MA was talked about. (1/3)

    You can’t blame Bret. He had a creative control clause on his last month with the company, therefore could indeed decide who he would lose the title to, or in this case, who he didn’t want to lose the title to. And it’s Vince who gave him that power with that clause (3/3)

    The right narrative should be that Vince was afraid that Bischoff would announce Bret’s signing on Nitro 11/10. But Bret had specifically asked Eric not to do that and Eric had agreed. Vince wanted Shawn as champion and made it happened. But he was wrong here. (2/3)

    Sad news. Paul “The Butcher” Vachon died last night at the age of 86 years old. Former AWA tag team champ, Grand Prix Wrestling promoter and WWE wrestler, he had a great career and became a friend of mine over the years. My sympathies to his wife Dee and his family.

    🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨 I spoke to multiple sources and AEW would make its long awaited Montreal debut on December 5 and December 6 at the Bell Center. Wednesday will be Dynamite and Rampage, and the Tuesday show should be Collision and ROH. AEW is currently doing a Canadian tour.

    I can confirm that Kevin Owens has signed a multi-year contract to stay with WWE. I had Kevin on my podcast yesterday, we were going to release it tomorrow, but Sean beat me to it. Still, more from KO tomorrow about his decision.

    30 years ago today, Dino Bravo was killed in his home in Laval. In Montreal, he was our version of Hulk Hogan, the most popular wrestler of the 1980s, and my favorite one growing up. His death, still unsolved, is one of the biggest tragedies in the history of Quebec wrestling.

    Very difficult for me to watch Devon Nicholson talk about Abdullah the Butcher and brag about retiring him, when you know all the liberties Nicholson took on other wrestlers and staff. You could do a whole episode of DSOTR on this guy. Never took responsibility for all he did.

    As mentioned today on WOR, Bertrand Hebert and myself have signed a deal to do a Dino Bravo book. It will take the form of a true crime story, using real facts from Dino’s life and career. It will be published by ECW Press in the fall of 2025. Very excited by this 😊

    SR put over RR and said he wanted to bring somebody else, but that person didn’t want to. He told him he had no choice since his wife is Canadian. DA showed up, huge pop, said WWE comes to Canada so often cause of the crowd. He ended with « Merci beaucoup, Montreal » #AfterRaw
