People often tell me that their friend group talks about living near each other. And yet, almost none of them have successfully clustered their friend group yet.
Here's how I got 22 of my friends to live within walking distance āØ
turned on data after a 5 hour flight only to learn that my house had flooded, my friends had formed a 14 person coordination chat, a shop vac was acquired, all wet items were removed and dried or thrown out, our house has been disinfected...and everything is all good now
a redditor did spaced repetition with his kids. he taught:
- his 4yo daughter to read at a 5th grade reading level
- his 3yo son to do times tables up to 12x12
Oh also, friends had come by to care for my 15mo daughter so my husband could focus on de-flooding. And at the end of it all my friends went out and bought him birria tacos
This week was my husband's first week solo parenting and I'm happy he is so well supported while I'm away

some second order effects:
- his daughter started reading their junk mail for fun. she learned who their representatives were and started learning about politics
- after times tables, his son could learn more advanced math like prime factorization, fractions, and light algebra
I always wondered how my NYC community would perform in an emergency situation. We got a test of that last night!
At 8:53pm, @__drewface called me and a few of his closest friends. He said that he'd arrived home to a flooded apartment. His wife was abroad, his baby daughter was
reddit dad stopped doing anki with his daughter when she was in second grade because she was busy with normal kid stuff
but doing anki early still had a compounding effect

The Story of Fractal, or How I Built a Campus For My Friendsā¦

But by the time we
