Nigerian music this. Afrobeats that. Not on my watch. I’ve just sat down and put together a playlist of songs that are good vibes. I’ll update weekly as I go. Listen and click the plus sign to save for weekly enjoyment.

Many Nigerians, especially mothers, become parents and give up their personality to raise kids. Many people never really meet the "person" in their parents. It's a sad reality. I never forget the day my grandma's younger sister was trashing boys in table tennis during lock down.

My cousin locked himself indoors and refused to eat for days because his babe left him. Entire family had to go beg the girl. He's married to her now. I was 10 when it happened but I knew no human being will ever have that kind of control over me. I put that on my Saint Obi.

When he hopped on Ojuelegba remix in 2017 and followed up with One Dance, it wasn't even cool in the US mainstream to hop on Afrobeats. Yet they called this man a culture vulture when he's just a person obsessed with music. The entitlement stinks.

When I was younger, one uneducated egbon asked us to spell "Cabin" in cabin biscuit for a prize. Bidemi, my childhood friend, answered with a question, "If I fail am, how you wan take know?" 20+ years and I know answering a person with no capacity understand is a waste of time.

Iyanya is the reason I stopped believing Nigeria will appreciate depth in music. He won project fame so his singing talent is not in doubt. His first release post project fame was a well written ballad. But it was Kukere that did it for him.

Iyanya’s kukere was a smash HIT . It was so unavoidable .
