After two months in our ICU fighting COVID-19, Khalid went home today. He won. The first thing heโs doing once home? Hugging his daughter. Khalid, we salute you. ๐
QCH has a new way to efficiently test for possible COVID-19 cases. A drive through in front of ED will minimize wait times for patients who have been directed by @OttawaHealth to come to hospital for screening for COVID-19 โ and help keep Emergency for emergencies. #ottnews
2 days.
50+ people.
11 different services.
2750 patients seen.
Thank you doesn't begin to cover it - this is collaboration at its finest! We couldn't do it without you.
And a huge thank you to our community for their patience today! We're all in this together ๐
Meet Kim, Irene and Robyn, Immunizers at our Vaccine Clinic - and all former QCH staff who came back out of retirement to help vaccinate our community. Collectively, they have over 100 years of nursing experience working at QCH! Thank you ladies for helping us keep Ottawa safe!
Meet some of the ACE unit staff: skilled, caring healthcare professionals helping patients in isolation for respiratory illness. They have been unbelievable - adaptable, and committed to the care of their patients (they are standing 6ft apart, we promise!)
Thank you team! ๐
This morning our ED received a wonderful surprise: Ottawa's first responders drove through our ED, lights & sirens & horns blazing, showing their support for our staff. Positive, emotional, amazing. ๐จ๐๐
Frontline workers supporting frontline workers. Thank you๐
Hey Ottawa,
Itโs been one week since schools re-opened, and in one more week Ontario will further open up. People have asked us how QCH is holding up, so today we are providing a glimpse of the good, the bad, and the ugly. A snapshot of a day-in-the-life-of-QCH.๐งต 1/14 #ottnews
We have good news! Yesterday we celebrated the first time since March 13 to have no cases of COVID-19 at QCH. We liked it so much, we decided to celebrate it again today โ making this the second day in a row. ICU & ACE (who saw most admitted patients) were happy to raise a cheer.
Hey Ottawa, weโve got news: QCH doesnโt have any active COVID-19 cases. Weโre COVID-free!
Itโs great news โ it's a good sign and a moment to celebrate, especially considering all the efforts of not only our team but everything youโve been doing to stay safe. Itโs working. (1/4)
Meet Ralph Field, a patient admitted to our ICU three weeks ago for #COVID19. We are proud to say that this is Ralphโs COVID success story.
After two weeks on a ventilator in our ICU, Ralph is home and healthy. โI won. Iโm home.โ
From all of us at QCH โ CONGRATULATIONS! ๐
Good news: QCH has completed preparations for our COVID-19 vaccination clinic - and we're on standby to open it to support the regional vaccination rollout when supply is available: bit.ly/3klJaud
