Horror as terminally ill woman 'forced to sleep on floor' while waiting in A&E - Mirror Online. This is awful, but why does someone with a wholly predictable complication of treatment need to come to an ED? Where’s the acute oncology service?

Thank you @RishiSunak , @SteveBarclay @willquince and @Helen_Whately for inviting @RCollEM to this meeting. We are pleased that emergency care is recognised as a priority. This is fixable.

I am so saddened by the death of our past President Dr Cliff Mann. His passing is a huge loss to EM and the NHS. Our thoughts are with his family and Taunton colleagues. His charm, integrity and way with a simile will be remembered forever. @RCollEM

bbc.co.uk/news/health-64… This is not inevitable. We knew flu was coming, we knew we didn't have enough beds, we knew too many people are in hospital awaiting social care and we knew we didn't have enough staff. Go figure 🤷‍♂️

I am finding it increasingly difficult to accept the lack of focus on the health care crisis that is Emergency care. Ambulance delays, patients held in ambulances, trolley stays & corridor care is becoming normalised in a truly shocking way. We must & should do better. @RCollEM

Manjeet was the Lead examiner for our Fellowship exam. He put so much into his role and there are so many trainees and now Consultants who benefited from his support. The specialty, his team and RCEM will miss him very much @RCollEM @UHDBTrust @RCEMdean @EmilyBeet1

Damn. Perils of cycling on gritty roads. Will be out of action for bit. Care has been excellent at @CUH_NHS though none of my colleagues wanted to do the FIB block and debated orthogeriatric referral 😳

This will resonate with many emergency physicians, paramedics and nurses across the UK. This is not an isolated problem affecting one rural hospital.
