- It was a pleasure to join the Royal Society of Biology STEM Parliamentary Links Day to meet staff from local universities including my amazing constituent Amie who discussed how degree apprenticeships like those at MMU are widening access for young people into science
And Prof Chris Parkes and the team from the Institute of Physics who spoke about some of the brilliant research happening at Salford University & Manchester University and the devastating impact of research funding shortages. STEM is vital to our society and economy. - Great to join Salford residents, @salford_mayor Paul Dennett and many others at the UK Chinese Dragon Boat at the Quays today, and an honour to present awards to winners.
