This week I learned of the death in hospital of two patients of mine with cancer. Neither was protected by mask use by staff. One died due to contracting COVID during the hospital stay. Is there a point where the criminal insanity of all this becomes apparent to those in charge?

I'm a gp also, also enforce two way masking in my consults, it also bewilders me that ID specialists, internists, cardiologists, you name it, don't mask. Oncologists, haematologists and intensivists drive me particularly mad. It's good to know of more doctors that do. Stay safe!

Another COVID-19 alarm bell is being toned down, this time by the European Mortality Monitoring Project (EuroMOMO). Mortality data from Spring 2023 onwards has started being incorporated in the baseline used to calculate Excess Mortality, making the pandemic the new 'normal'. 1/

I am becoming extremely concerned about the blowback in the near future from all this repression to defend Israel's genocide. Innocent Jewish people will be caught in the storm, the some way innocent gay people are being punished due to the West using LGBT+ rights for politics.

It looks like I might be losing my COVID virginity the next couple of days. My lifepartner, a teacher, just tested positive (second infection, almost exactly a year after the first). We both do close to everything outside home with a ffp2 on. We are EXTREMELY careful. But... 1/

As a doctor, people tell me stuff. Friends and acquaintances phone when a dear one isn't doing well and they want an opinion or reassurance. My patients tell me about their families/friends. So much death and suffering. Cancers exploding out of nowhere, sudden deaths, sepsis...
