    Classification of individuals who can enhance our careers: A) mentor-- trusted partner, there for the long run B) coach-- available for short bursts, very focused C) sponsor-- connector to future opportunities Strive to have multiple people in each of these 3 categories. #MedEd

    Searching in an old desk drawer this AM, I came across this...pager. I asked my 11- and 8-year old children if they knew what it was. They examined it, pressed buttons, opened the battery, and turned it over & over. Eventually they stopped and said “We give up. What is it?”

    For a talk I’m putting together on #mentorship, I would appreciate your thoughts. We’ve all experienced helpful mentors & horrible tormentors. 1-Why do some initial mentors turn into tormentors? 2-How can we stop this transition once it starts occurring?

    Congrats to 4th year @VUMCradiology chief #RadRes Dr. Jennifer Huang for receiving the prestigious Hillman Award! This goes to the #1 educator amongst all 1200 residents at @VUMChealth. A huge accomplishment for any resident, and the first time we’ve had a radiology winner. 🎉
