The law is clear: President Trump does NOT have legal authority to block grant Medicaid. This latest attack on the ACA will only result in lower quality of care for fewer people. #ProtectOurCare

This is Sarah Weddington, Kay Bailey Hutchison, and I in the Texas House in 1973. That same year, at 26 years old, Sarah went before the Supreme Court and successfully argued Roe v. Wade.
Reps. Johnson, Weddington, and Hutchison in the Texas House Chamber.

I am a native Texan — born and raised here, educated here, and in my 15th term representing TX-30. Not once have I heard anyone here use the reprehensible and insensitive “saying” that @RepChipRoy is referencing. Texans are better than that. Americans are better than that.

"There's old sayings in Texas about find all the rope in Texas and get a tall oak tree. You know, we take justice very seriously, & we ought to do that. Round up the bad guys." -- here's Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) glorifying lynchings during hearing on violence against Asian-Americans

In his prayer yesterday, Imam @omarsuleiman504, as he has time and again, used his voice to call for peace & justice — especially in times of struggle.

While countries across the world were suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic, Taiwan effectively contained their spread to 1,100 cases and only 12 deaths. The United States—and the WHO as a whole—would benefit if we #LetTaiwanHelp at the next World Health Assembly.
