    When she asks if she’s being taken to the cemetery, one of the men who helped dig her out is telling her “what cemetery, look at you you’re like the moon!!” I can’t conceive of the strength adults in Gaza have to still be able to comfort children like this

    It’s depressing how popular this view is, high school classes are not enough to learn about the world and in general we need to unlearn this idea that only knowledge that will make you an economically productive cog in the machine is worthwhile because we all suffer for it
