M23 isn't a Tutsi group, it is all Kinyarwanda-speaking Congolese group. Usually called Banyarwanda or Rwandaphones. The M23 problem goes way back even 200 years ago but let me start from the 70s and how the arrival of FDLR in Congo worsened the situation. Follow this 🧵

President Tshisekedi holds Belgian citizenship. DRC’s intelligence boss also has Belgian citizenship. The Minister of Foreign Affairs reportedly holds German citizenship. And I’m told nearly half of Congo’s generals have French or Belgian passports. Dear Africans are we ok? 🤣
