By the time Sinéad O’Connor sang this (1992) some 70,000 children had been sexually abused by Catholic priests & brothers in Ireland. The state, media, bishops, cardinals & pope had covered it up. She was scorned.

As a historian, & friend of Britain, I need to advise British commentators to desist from commenting on Ireland’s recognition of Palestine. The crimes of the British Empire were some of the worst in history. Those in India, for instance, are unimaginable in their depravity.

It would be a year before homosexuality was decriminalised in the Irish theocracy, 4 years before divorce was legalised & 20 years before abortion was legalised. It would be 6y before the last monstrous Mother & Baby Home was closed.

Dear Torygraph Readers: This is COMPLETELY untrue. Burke was arrested for breaching an order by the Irish courts to stay away from a school, three times. This is an extreme example of a standard child safeguarding issue. In my day we protected kids. Don’t fall for codswallop!

I’ve been asked by some ppl to explain what ‘women with DSD’ means, given the attacks these natal women are getting from Gender Critical extremists on this platform. DSD is a medical condition & not an excuse for hate comments. Ppl with DSD are in the news, due to the Olympics.
