- Yesterday, DC became the first US jurisdiction to restore the right to vote for residents incarcerated with felony convictions. We join Maine and Vermont which never took this right away. This is a huge step for justice and true democracy. #RestoreTheVote

- When I was 13, I got into a lot of trouble. Made a lot of bad choices. And lived to learn from them. A lot of us did. Karon was shot dead. His family lost a child, and his friends are hurt permanently. This can’t be who we are as a city.Karon Blake, 13, was shot & killed by a NE man who tells police he saw him breaking into cars early Sat. Tonight Karon’s school shared photos of him, describing him as a quiet & inquisitive 6th grader who loved football & fashion. Police have not yet id’d or charged shooter. 1/2
- Today begins an exciting journey at Georgetown Law School. I’ll be teaching about voting rights, focusing on felony disenfranchisement. There are many ways we can fight for the future we want for our city — I am honored to help mold the bright minds of our future leaders.

- The vaccine mandate is working. Cases are just starting to go down and ending it now is premature. The vaccine mandate made it possible for many families, including mine, to feel a little comfort and calmed the anxiety of frontline workers and immunocompromised folks.Replying to @TheArtist_MBSMORE: Bowser is ending the vaccine requirement tomorrow, businesses will no longer be required to verify that patrons are vaccinated.
- Multiple kids were hit by drivers this week. We can’t accept this. The crosswalks and streets where these crashes happened have been flagged as dangerous by residents, ANCs, and the Council for years and these accidents were preventable. We must redesign our streets to be safer.
- Cold weather states showing an uptick in Covid cases, CDC metrics show DC in the substantial spread zone, neighboring jurisdictions are moving to reinstate mask mandates as they see a surge in Covid cases, and our youngest residents still aren’t vaccinated. This is prematureNews: DC's indoor mask mandate will end on Monday, 11/22. DC had one of the strictest mask requirements in the nation since July. You'll now be able to shop in stores and work in offices without masks. Masks will still be required in schools, public transit, and other settings.
