Introducing Hot Velo Fall. This year, we did fall ball a little differently and set velocity PRs left and right. Here's how we did it ⬇️

When a new arm enters our program, we ask ourselves: 1. Can we create two fastball shapes? 2. Is the breaking ball velocity:movement ratio adequate? Unless the raw shapes are unicorns, it is the key to unlocking more quadrants of the zone.

Yet another example of a guy dominating with two fastball shapes. Both are 99-100. #Postseason

We see too many college arms chasing a “20 HB sweeper” at the expense of velo. 75 MPH and 18 HB/no depth is a mid pitch. 80 MPH and 10 HB is better than that. That’s why our model prioritizes firm, depthy sliders. We find they’re easier to achieve and perform better.

Jagger Edwards has had a career year for @CULionsBaseball. This is the story of how he went from a 10.96 career ERA to leading the pitching staff in WAR in his senior season. Deception, pitch design, and dominating the strike zone.

2 FEET OF RUN ON A FASTBALL? His sinker was up to 89.5 yesterday and *averaged* 23 inches of HB — with his best running 26.2 inches. Unreal, @evan_kleinhans!

Midweek Madness! Mercer knocks off #4 Florida State 9-3. Bradley Frye went 3-4 with a HR and 3 RBIs, while Brant Baughcum hit a 2-run HR. Colton Cosper (1 IP, 2 Ks) and Terry Busse (2 IP, 3 Ks) combined to throw 3 shutout, hitless innings to slam the door.

In Ivy League play, 6 pitchers accounted for over 75% of our bullpen innings in 2025. They accounted for 2% of innings in 2024. Nevertheless, they posted Columbia's best bullpen ERA since at least 2018. Here's how they used data to help do it.
