    Sir Bobby died nine years ago. We miss him today as much as ever. His wonderful drive and enthusiasm, his great positivity. The work we fund is the legacy he said he wanted to leave behind. Thanks to your support, Sir Bobby's legacy continues to grow.

    On this day, 10 years ago, Sir Bobby made his final public appearance. Fittingly, it was a football match and in aid of his Foundation. The Sir Bobby Robson Trophy was a ‘replay’ of the @DFB_Team_EN v @England Italia 90 semi-final, played at @NUFC’s St James’ Park.

    Sir Bobby died on this day in 2009. We miss him. He called this charity his legacy for others facing cancer. On behalf of the children and adults our work benefits, thank you for your magnificent support. Or, as Sir Bobby was fond of saying, thank you for your faithfulness.

    Sir Bobby was born on this day in 1933 in the County Durham village of Sacriston to proud parents, Philip and Lillian Robson. He grew up with four brothers - Tom, Philip, Ron and Keith - and was never short of someone to play with.
