    ๐ŸšจUPDATE: ๐Ÿšจ At 4:10 p.m. SPD were dispatched to 3150 W. Republic Rd. to a Walmart Neighborhood Market. An armed white male in his twenties was detained by an armed off-duty fireman until officers arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody. More: springfieldmo.gov/CivicAlerts.asโ€ฆ

    We have heavy hearts this morning following a tragic situation occurring overnight. Officer Chris Walsh lost his life and Officer Josiah Overton is recovering at a local hospital, after suffering a gunshot wound. 4 others lost their lives. springfieldmo.gov/CivicAlerts.asโ€ฆ

    We are incredibly thankful to celebrate the return of our brother, Ofc. Josiah Overton, who was injured in the line of duty in March. We are proud of his strength & perseverance. His big smile and positive attitude were sorely missed! We love you, Josiah.

    On Sept. 15th @ipdinfo Officer Blaize Madrid-Evans, was shot and killed in the line of duty. Officer Madrid-Evans was an organ donor and Springfield Police Officer Mark Priebe, needed a new kidney. The two were a match. #donatelife Read their story here: springfieldmo.gov/CivicAlerts.asโ€ฆ

    Today Ofc Priebe left to Colorado for rehab. He and his wife made safely & his journey to recovery continues. Say a prayer for them & the road ahead. Mark, please know, your blue family loves you tremendously & your absence at SPD has left a gaping hole. We will never leave you

    Ofc. Anna King & Sgt. Heather Anderson responded to a call on S. National after a mama ๐Ÿฆ† was walking out into traffic because her babies were trapped in a storm drain. Anna & Heather spent about an hour in the drain & were able to return all 9 ducklings to their mom! #sgfproud
