    Lessons I learned from Greece #8: populists gain traction by scolding the "elites" for corruption, but when in power they out-corrupt them

    Not a coup, not even a riot (these guys are strolling inside the Capitol) but a dramatic, unbelievable failure of basic policing

    Δεν δικαιολογώ αλλά μπορώ να καταλάβω όσους αντιδρούν στις αλλαγές στα ΑΕΙ γιατί δεν έχουν ζήσει κάτι καλύτερο. Είναι όμως εντελώς ασυγχώρητο να απολαμβάνεις τα προνόμια μιας Οξφόρδης και ταυτόχρονα να δίνεις αγώνα για να διαιωνίζεται το μπάχαλο στα ελληνικά πανεπιστήμια

    Lessons I learned from Greece #4: when assessing a populist govt it's always hard to tell whether it's just incompetence or dark designs

    I am annoyed by the obsessive focus on whether Russia has legitimate security concerns about NATO expansion or whether the US can claim the moral high ground. Ukraine has instead the most pressing security concerns and clearly occupies the moral high ground

    Το πανεπιστήμιο Πελοποννήσου που ανακήρυξε τον Πούτιν δικτάτορα..., συγγνώμη διδάκτορα, ανακάλεσε τον τίτλο ή περιμένει και άλλους ομαδικούς τάφους;

    There is now total clarity, no matter how unimaginable things might seem. And they amount to this: The U.S. government has been taken over by a clique of extremists who have embarked on a process of regime change in the world's oldest democracy. 1/n
