In 2013, I had a journalism degree and passed the Strength and Conditioning Certification Exam with the minimum passing score. In 2016, I became the Lakers Strength Coach. I didn't work all that hard. I was in my 20's. I partied. I went to a handful of seminars in the

One of the coolest things about becoming a good strength coach is that you start out really simple, then start learning and get super complex and then realize that simplicity was the best model after all.

When you see a tight hamstring, do you stretch the hamstring or ask why is the hamstring tight? This may end up being my interview question when looking to make a new hire.

I used to be in charge of athlete recovery for the Lakers. I had access to the franchise’s deep pockets to search the world and find the absolute best recovery tools on the planet. Here’s what I found…

I used to be the performance coach for the Lakers. They wrote me a blank check and told me to find out how to get players back from injury as fast as possible. Here’s what I learned: 1. Most symptoms that didn’t come from an acute incident, like spraining an ankle or

When I got the job w. the Lakers I thought I’d be jealous of the players. I grew up dreaming of playing in the NBA. What did I learn? I wasn’t even close. They are unicorns among unicorns. I learned just how far fetched that dream is for anyone. When I have kids, I
