We’ve been relentlessly focused on keeping Canadians safe. Our government promised stricter bail and tougher sentences. That promise is now law. Over 80 targeted changes to the Criminal Code coming into force in 30 days. Stricter bail. Tougher sentences. Safer communities.

Canada now has new bail & sentencing laws. Stricter bail for repeat & violent offenders. Tougher sentences for serious crimes. Stronger tools for police & courts. Thanks to everyone who helped get this done, especially the police officers who keep our communities safe everyday.

Notre priorité est claire : protéger les Canadiens. Notre gouvernement avait promis des règles plus strictes sur la mise en liberté sous caution et des peines plus sévères. Cette promesse est maintenant loi.

C'est parti ! 🚀 Si vous aviez dit il y a 10 ans qu'on lancerait des fusées depuis la Nouvelle-Écosse rurale, on vous aurait pris pour un fou. Aujourd'hui, on l'a vu de nos propres yeux. Fier d'ouvrir la voie à une économie spatiale souveraine et de bons emplois ici chez nous !

Incredibly disappointed today to see Conservative MPs vote against Bill C-16, which will strengthen the Criminal Code by: -Making femicide a first-degree murder charge; -Creating a new offence of coercive control; -Making it mandatory for social media companies to report child
