President of @UoPeople: Non-profit, tuition-free, accredited, online university. When traveling for business, colleagues are permitted to post on my behalf.
Getting recognized at the airport halfway across the world by a @UoPeople student is something else entirely.
A spontaneous moment that says everything about the community UoPeople has built. #UoPeople#HigherEducation
UoPeople achieved WASC accreditation!!! University of the People is now accredited by WASC, alongside top institutions like UC Berkeley and Stanford.
This is a huge step for our students and alumni worldwide. The future is bright!

As an #entrepreneur, I’ve learned: The bigger the mission, the more people doubt you. They said @UoPeople couldn’t be tuition-free, volunteer-based, and accredited. Now we have 153K students & #WASC accreditation. You don’t need permission. Just start. #highereducation
"When children and youth are deprived of their right to education, their community is deprived of a sustainable future. It is all the more true with refugees." - Forest Whitaker
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for being named a 2023 Yidan Prize Laureate.@UoPeople's commitment to accessible education is a collective effort, and this recognition serves as a reminder of the incredible work we've done together. 🌟📖 #2023YidanPrize#EducationForAll
I am extremely humbled and honored to meet with #PopeFrancis and get his endorsement of the work of #UoPeople, ensuring that over 16,500 refugee students have access to #HigherEducation.
#HigherEducation for all is possible — and @UoPeople shows how.
This week I joined a @UN Expert Group meeting on launching an online university for Least Developed Countries.
We must act now—2030 is near, and #education must stay central to global progress. #HigherEducation
Remote learning builds the same skills people need in today’s workplace. #Motivation, self discipline, teamwork & the ability to thrive outside an office. That is why employers are starting to value online education more than ever. #OnlineLearning#FutureOfWork#RemoteEducation
#HigherEd should not only prepare you for #success. It should prepare you for uncertainty, for change & for when plans fall apart. In a world where change is constant, #education must go beyond textbooks. It should teach us how to adapt, rebuild, and keep going. #UoPeople
