And as an endocrinologist (who has been President of the Society for Endocrinology ) I can confirm that both JK Rowling and John Pike are completely scientifically correct on this matter

I am a head of department at a major UK university and happy to state publicly that biological sex is a real and meaningful concept and necessary in many contexts including medical, social & sporting.

Dare any VC or senior person in a University could say that biological sex is real. Even if they think it, no one would say this publicly. Their career would be at an end. This is the test of whether free speech still exists in academia. @StudentAFAF @WRNDerbyshire @SpeechUnion

To clarify. I have no personal or professional access to the relevant tests. The confirmation by at least one boxer's trainer that they had XY chromosomes (and that was the reason for the previous ban) combined with the striking body habitus easily observed by an experienced/

Many kind friends are puzzled about why I have started to tweet in support of women who have expressed some concerns about the importance of retaining the importance of biological sex vs self identified gender. Below is an example of the hostility they face. Incitement to murder.

When I go back to Ireland, which I do fairly often, I am amazed at how few of my highly educated friends have ever even heard of Helen Joyce, a brilliant Irish citizen and graduate who was a senior journalist at the Economist for many years. She has written a seminal and/

Helen is an Irishwoman and an alumni of Trinity College Dublin. She has never been invited to speak on an Irish TV or radio show. She has never been interviewed by an Irish journalist either. In Ireland the elites think that if we don’t talk about it, then there’s no problem.

On the basis of all data available to them they were "complete scientifically correct" in drawing the conclusions that they did. Of course if the boxers concerned were willing to make their karyotype results publicly known then any room for doubt could be removed.

Government should tell obese to eat less, says ex-minister Lord Robathan bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi… Now why didn't we think of that? Answer: because we know it doesnt work. Obesity is not a knowledge deficiency disorder.

This is Alicia Scott Weigel and American writer who has openly discussed the fact that she is XY with Complete Androgen Insensitivity syndrome, She has never been exposed to the effects of androgens, particularly not at puberty, so her musculo-skeletal body habitus is female

The cited endocrinologist is a highly expert one. 5 alpha reductase deficiency is a devastating disorder. It’s sufferers deserve expert and compassionate care. However, their pubertal development is male and it is dangerous to allow them in a boxing ring with biological women.

What’s so difficult to grasp about the fact that hunger and satiety are signals generated deep in primitive parts of our brain, that their intensity varies between people, largely on a genetic basis, and that this variation strongly predisposes people towards leanness or obesity?

By this, I mean I do not have any privileged access to these particular boxers' results. I do have over 35 years of clinical and research experience as an endocrinologist and my lab as discovered several of the key molecular controllers of human puberty
