- A wee story about John Thaw. I like talking to taxi drivers. One cabbie told me he'd had a lot of famous people in his car, but his favourite, by far, was John Thaw. He had to pick up John at the Europa Hotel and drive him to the North coast to meet a director about a film.
- Replying to @SteveCavanagh_Then they left for the meeting. John paid for the driver's dinner while he waited to drive him back after the meeting. The cab driver's mother never forgot about John's visit. He was an absolute prince.
- Replying to @SteveCavanagh_The driver went into his mother's, said be had someone in his cab who wanted to meet her. At which point John Thaw danders in and says: "Madam, I understand that you adore me." They spent half and hour having tea and biscuits, taking photos and chatting.
- Replying to @SteveCavanagh_The cabbie said his mother was a huge fan of John's. She loved Morse, and Kavanagh QC, he was her idol. John Thaw: Does your mum live in Belfast? Driver: Aye, in the east. John Thaw: How far away? Driver: About 5 minutes. John Thaw: Let's go and see her.

00:00 - Replying to @SteveCavanagh_He told the cab driver the director would wait. So they drove out to the cab driver's mother's house, and the driver said he would need to go and warn her about this. She was in her 80's and he didn't know if she could cope with the shock.
