Ben, thanks for doing this conversation. We're all so much better off. (FWIW for others, I am generally hostile to interviews and podcasts and prefer to read transcripts. Don't do that here, folks. And don't just listen. Sit down and watch.) youtube.com/watch?v=V8MO-i… @BenSasse

Virginians: your state health department just covered up tens of thousands of COVID test results -- *all negative* --thereby confusing the public about how much risk there was, and likely extending the Phase One lockdown in NoVA. Does this bother you? THREAD 1/x

Now think about how Romney would have responded if the situation was reversed.

Trump snarks Romney being in COVID-19 isolation. "Gee. That's too bad."

Wait, what? A campaign that avoided interaction with the press and public and avoided discussion of the most important policy questions (court-packing/filibuster) -- that's not an "old fashioned campaign." The opposite.

Joe Biden ran a kind of campaign that wasn’t supposed to work anymore in American politics. Facing a media-hungry, anti-system outsider, Biden ran an old-fashioned campaign that defended the system and delighted in the messy, coalitional work of politics. vox.com/21545969/joe-b…

The law does not require violence. It is illegal to protest out a judge's home to try to influence the decision, no matter how "peaceful" you are. Tell DOJ to prosecute.

OUCH: Confronted by an AP reporter with the fact that there's a law against protesting outside someone's the private residence (like with SCOTUS justices), Psaki insists "violence, threats, and intimidation have no place in political discourse" & "no one" should "violate the law"

57% of Americans voted against Bill Clinton in 1992, yet somehow he became president and appointed Stephen Breyer and Ruth Bader Ginsburg to the Supreme Court. Crazy!

A reminder: Two presidents who became president despite losing the popular vote appointed five of nine Supreme Court nominees, including Samuel Alito, who wrote yesterday’s leaked draft opinion.

Garbage headline, as the article itself explains. Sen. Paul wants a vote on an amendment to ensure the entitlement is paid-for. Sen. Lee wants to ensure oversight. Neither opposes the substance of the bill.

United Flight 93 will always be the 9/11 story that hits me the hardest. The passengers knew they were dead, and had a choice to make. They could let the terrorist kill more innocent people, or they could fight back. They chose to fight back and retake the plane . #Heroes

"And Mr. Engel’s memo, dated Sept. 24, said in a footnote that it was a revision of an original from Sept. 3, and that the department had β€œchanged the prior version to avoid references to certain details that remain classified.”" nytimes.com/2019/09/25/us/…
