2GB reporting mass cancellations at restaurants. Why? Because pollies forget behavioural psychology. Keeping things open, and dropping restrictions sounds good... until people vote with their feet. More restrictions and fewer cases would have meant more business! An own goal

Imagine being as wealthy as Australia, but decreeing that young people can have a house, or Super, but not both, because we have neither the vision nor the will to meaningfully address housing policy. What a complete and utter abandonment of principle and duty. #auspol #ausbiz

Labor was elected for two reasons; 1. Not being Scott Morrison 2. Hope of real, positive action in lots of areas. They might lose government, because 1 gets you elected but 2 keeps you on the Treasury benches only if you deliver. The LNP can't believe its luck. 1/4 #auspol

At some point, Australia will stop digging up coal and iron ore. We'll stop drilling oil and gas. And we'll have nothing to show for it, other than a memory of lower taxes before they were raised to offset falling revenue. We need a sovereign wealth fund. Now #auspol #ausbiz

Not many things I'm more sure of than: 1. Australia is not getting enough for the minerals and hydrocarbons miners extract, and 2. The proceeds of resource rents and royalties should be put in a Sovereign Wealth Fund. We're shortchanging our kids. #auspol #ausbiz #Budget2024

I've been critical of the lack of action on housing affordability and availability by this government. But the house purchase by the PM, unless he's broken any laws, is his own business. He shouldn't have to pretend to be poor for the cameras. #auspol
