    🚨🚨We have seen this post from a UK hospital highlighting the first time an ANP has undertake a TAVI as first operator. All members of the πŸ«€ team are valuable. However, we are concerned about the impact that this decision will have had on local trainees. 🚨🚨

    Yesterday, @dr_chrisallen finished his term as President and officially handed over the reigns to @cfcamm. We would like to wholeheartedly thank Chris for everything he has done for the BJCA - over his 2 years as President (and 4 years before that on the committee!) πŸ‘

    This issue highlights a broader problem. πŸ₯ receive trainees with little need to demonstrate that they provide good training and a safe training environment. This is wrong.

    πŸ₯ should be proving the quality of the training they are providing to trainees. Otherwise trainees should be removed. Without this, training of trainees will continue to play second fiddle to other hospitals and national priorities.

    We are raising this specific issue with @BCIS and @BritishCardioSo and expect them to support trainees obtain the required training opportunities to become the highly trained cardiology consultants that the UK needs and deserves.
