- Today is a sad day for economics. Robert E. Lucas, Jr., a great researcher and teacher died this morning.

- Modern Monetary Theory is becoming popular in Argentina just in time to help the government bankrupt itself and send the country into yet another economic depression. - Bob Solow and I were colleagues at MIT in early 1980s. He helped me obtain fellowship from Sloan Foundation to spend 1983-84 at Churchill College, Cambridge. He, his wife Bobby, and I were neighbors in the Churchill Flats at the college. I have great memories of a great man.RIP. Bob Solow an absolute giant in Economics, has passed away at age 99. Tremendously influential in the profession and one of the key founders of the MIT Economics department as we live it today. Will be sorely missed.
