the day i found out that the coffee was so hot it FUSED HER LABIA TOGETHER requiring reconstructive surgery and triggering constant pain afterwards, AND that she was only suing them for the cost of her medical bills was genuinely a day i lost a lot of faith in the world

on a very basic level idk how they expect doctors to confirm period pain - or any pain, for that matter - beyond ‘the patient says they’re in pain’

this story is so heartbreaking. she was basically turned into an unwilling surrogate for someone else’s baby, believing all that time she was carrying her own child, & then after months raising him she had to give him to the bio parents - and also learned they’d lost her embryos

A Georgia woman is suing her former fertility clinic after an embryo mix-up led her to give birth to another couple’s child.
    Image
    Readers added context
Missing context: the woman, Krystena Murray, is suing the clinic over distress not because the child was black, but because she loved the child she gave birth to, and was then forced to surrender him to the biological parents. nytimes.com/2025/02/19/us/…

i just saw someone tweeting about how people can’t afford to go to nail salons and get their hair done recently (true) but then they followed it up by saying it’s crazy that these things are now luxuries… am i losing my mind or have these things not always been luxuries????

    1) there was a push in the queer community for straight people to use the word partner ages ago so that using the term wouldn’t automatically out someone 2) my partner is in his 40s, and we’ve been together 9 years + own a house together. ‘boyfriend’ sounds juvenile

Straight people are starting to use “partner” more and more. I don’t like it.

see the thing is my hate isn’t arbitrary it’s based on the material impacts of AI on the environment and the capitalist depletion of humanity’s soul, so 🤷‍♀️

i don’t usually entertain objectively nonsense takes but: do people actually think that ‘body horror’ refers to the body becoming horrifying to OTHERS? because… no, that’s not what body horror means!
Someone QTing my pregnancy tweet about body horror saying: ‘pregnancy is the original body horror do you hear yourselves sometimes when you talk. like u can talk about how difficult pregnancy is and how misinformed women are without going ‘women who are pregnant you will be grotesque for the rest of your life’

one day i’m going to need historians to study how the lie about lockdowns lasting for years has already taken hold when the history is so recent and everyone who was alive in 2020 knows that they lasted only months at a time, stopped & started, & by 2021 everyone had given up
