- Something that should be music to Indiana fans' ears. During Darian DeVries career? His teams are 25-9 in games decided by one-possession.
- Needless to say, being inside Assembly Hall when Bob Knight's death was announced was very emotional. The crowd gasped a bit. There are moments of silence, but not soul made a sound during Knight's moment of silence.
- Dave Reynolds is one of the most even-handed reporters I’ve worked with. He’s professional, the dean of MVC beat writers and someone I consider a model of how to do this job right. Most of all? He’s a good man who doesn’t deserve this garbage treatment. pjstar.com/sports/2019031…
- I get asked why we travel to all of the ISU games we do. Tonight is why. You never know when you're going to see a big moment. You can't cover those moments if you're not there. ISU is our Division I program. The Tribune-Star treats it as such. I hope no one takes it for granted.
- Not all Big Ten MBB schedules are created equal. Seven teams are played twice and six once. Indiana was the only Big Ten school to play the bottom five seeds in the Big Ten Tournament just once. The Hoosiers played two against the No. 1, No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 7 seeds. #iubb
- Well, it's my turn to do one of *those* tweets. Professional announcement ... after 18 years and change, tomorrow is my last day at the Tribune-Star. I have accepted a position covering Indiana athletics for CNHI Sports Indiana.
- If Loyola can do this? Any MVC team can do this. This isn't like Wichita State, who spent far more than anyone else. This gauntlet MVC teams run during the regular season in this league toughens its best teams for the postseason. They just need the chance.

- Many high schools have installed turf football fields in the last 15 years. That's great, but why not turf your baseball & softball diamonds instead? Or at least the infields? (For cost purposes.) They're used more often & those sports are more weather-sensitive than football is.
- I don't know if @EliasSports, @kenpomeroy, et al, track such things, but I'd love to know the last time there was a Division I game in which neither team had an offensive rebound. Indiana State and Evansville pulled that off tonight.
- Curt Cignetti got a standing ovation when he arrived to his radio show on Thursday. Turnout at Hoosier Hank’s is, by far, the largest of the season.
- Congrats to ISU. Thrilled for the fans, Terre Haute, and all of the former players and coaches who are no doubt swelling with pride. Even though the NCAAT was the goal, Sycamores giving a lesson in how to make the best of things and take satisfaction out of doing it.
