Considering the zeal by which some MAID providers glorify MAiD as a universal solution for 'suffering', we ought to be deeply deeply concerned by this judgment #euthanasia #maid

someone w 'unbearable pain' can hardly exercise 'agency'. Pain can be addressed 99.9% cases. Offering to end their life in this situation = paradigm cases undue influence or coercion. And remarkable how one can ignore injustice of terrible prioritization w what is made available

When a person is in unbearable pain, they need the agency to end their pain. How they got to that point is another matter. As I said, the days on a stretcher causing bedsores was unconscionable. But you don’t correct one injustice, poor care, with another injustice, denying MAiD.

Dutch government policy that permits involuntary #euthanasia of terminally ill children up to 12 years of age started today. Policy is said to apply in exceptional cases of v serious terminal illness & expected to be used in 5 to 10 cases per year.

Opinie @npvzorgnl nd.nl/opinie/opinie/…

Father says his daughter is "generally healthy and believes that her physical symptoms, to the extent that she has any, result from undiagnosed psychological conditions." Her only known diagnoses described in court earlier this month are autism and ADHD.

Here is an example of the morbid fetishing of self-determination: "M.V.'s dignity and right to self-determination outweighs the important matters raised by W.V. and the harm that he will suffer in losing M.V." What about harm to M.V? 'Choice' outweighs harm from being killed...

As an organization committed to producing reliable data & information relevant for Canadians, you should alert government about the embarrassing & problematic nature of this practice. People DO NOT DIE of being disabled or of mental illness. It is the procedure that kills them
