Italian F-35-capable LHD Trieste commissioned into the Italian Navy today.
Trieste replaces ITS Guiseppe Garibaldi and will serve alongside light aircraft carrier ITS Cavour.
The ship comes in at 39,000 tonnes, and features a twin-island design similar to the QE-class.
A UK F-35B has made an emergency landing at Kagoshima Airport in Japan due to a "possible mechanical problem."
Unclear whether the jet was operating from HMS Prince of Wales or if it had detached for Operation: Hightower.

The sailor was reported missing on Friday evening.
As much as the frigate gap is an issue, the retirement of HMS Northumberland is the correct decision.
