    More views of Sunday’s 440-ton lift 🏗️ The Chesapeake 1000 is the largest floating crane on the Eastern Seaboard, and removing these large pieces will help open a Limited Access Channel that allows one-way ship traffic to the @portofbalt. #FSKBridge

    Re-float update: The M/V DALI became buoyant at roughly 6:40 a.m. As of 7:00 a.m., it is currently being moved by tugboats under favorable environmental conditions. #FSKBridge

    Watch: Small charges were detonated by the Unified Command today to remove the large “section four” truss resting on the bow of the M/V DALI. 🚢🏗️ This step completely disconnected the ship from the #FSKBridge wreckage in the water and federal navigation channel.

    In this 6x speed timelapse from Friday afternoon, Unified Command salvors use the crane barge Chesapeake 1000 to move a large piece of supporting steel at the #FSKBridge site. 🏗️ Wreckage removal is ongoing to safely and efficiently open the Fort McHenry channel.

    Salvage crews on June 3-4 successfully removed the final large steel truss blocking the full 700’ wide federal channel, a two-day lift requiring concrete breakers, underwater surveys, & oxyacetylene torches to separate tons of #FSKBridge concrete roadway, cable, and steel rebar.

    The first commercial vessel transited through the Limited Access Channel at the #FSKBridge site Thursday, part of scheduled passages for a limited number of commercial vessels into the @portofbalt and a departure opportunity for deep draft vessels unable to leave the harbor.
