    Ma Zondeni Sobukwe turns 90. She's the wife of Robert Sobukwe who was imprisoned at ConHill in March 1960. We honour her strength &sacrifice

    South Africa’s Constitution was signed into law in Sharpeville on 10 Dec 1996. Today, 21 years later, we’re looking back in order to look forward. There is much wisdom to be gained from 21 years of constitutional jurisprudence. Now we ask, “What next?”

    ON THIS DAY IN 1966, Parliamentarian Service Officer Dimitri Tsafendas stabs main architect of apartheid Prime Minister H.F. Verwoed to death. Verwoed was sitting at his desk in the House of Assembly when Tsafendas attacked him with a knife.

    Did you know that the ConCourt, with Chief Justice Arthur Chaskalson as pres, was formally opened by Pres. Nelson Mandela on the morning of 14 Feb 1995? The judges took oaths of office wearing their specially designed green robes in the presence of the president & the minister...
