Our amazing staff lined the corridors this weekend to say farewell to Dave, who has been discharged from Royal Albert Edward Infirmary’s Winstanley Ward and is on his way home. We wish him, and everyone battling COVID-19, the very best in their continued recovery.

It is with great sadness to announce the loss of a valued member of our WWL Family. Linda Clarke worked in our Maternity service for 30 years, bringing many new lives into our borough and will be greatly missed by so many. Our thoughts and sympathies are with her family.

🎈It's been exactly 147 years since Wigan Infirmary was opened and today its main entrance had a colourful new feature. With an arch and two hearts made of rainbow balloons this Thursday we extend a huge thank you to all of our staff🌈

🏉 What an amazing gesture from @LiamMarshall20 and his @WiganWarriorsRL team mates ❤️ A lovely get well soon gift for 85-year-old Edith, one of our patients on Astley Ward, who is a huge Warriors supporter! 📰 ow.ly/5e9Y50EQkHj

In a few moments, WWL will come together in a minute of silence to remember our friends and colleagues we have lost during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families and loved ones of those who have passed away. They will always be remembered❤️
