- Daniel, the winner of ESPN’s Field Goal attempt. The Cal sophomore took home $100K for tuition and sparked ESPN to donate $600K to Hurricane Helene relief
- I spoke with Cal QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele’s parents, Setema and Tiki, today for a story to come soon. Here’s a snippet: “This is where we want to be,” Tiki said of Cal. “This is where we want him to graduate from.” A reoccurring theme during the special interview.
- Fun fact of the night: Cal’s Mady Sissoko scored a career-high 21 points to go with a routine 15 rebounds while fasting for Ramadan. Tremendous effort and dedication from one of the Bears’ primary leaders and seniors on Senior Night in Berkeley.
- Just In: Cal was named the nation’s No. 1 public university by the U.S. News & World Report. UCLA, tied with Berkeley in recent years, was ranked No. 2. It’s just the Golden Bears at the top now.
- Cal head coach Justin Wilcox confirmed redshirt sophomore quarterback Fernando Mendoza will be back for the 2025 season: "We feel really good about our team and who's coming back. We got guys coming back at the quarterback position, starting with Fernando." Rest, people.
- Anyone else tripping out on what just happened? Cal, Berkeley and ESPN collectively showed out. A day to remember in Bear Territory.
- A Cal-UC Berkeley shirt at the campus student store. Times are changing.
- You would think Cal is 0-3 — and not the world’s No. 1 public university — the way national media can’t mention JKS without the idea of him leaving.
