My 16 year old son was denied entry to Arlington National Cemetery today because he didnโ€™t have ID on him. Was going to see my grandfather who was in Battle of the Bulge. The reasons given for why ID required to visit the dead @ cemetery with three foot walls were flimsy as hell.

Where is the $25K housing subsidy going to come from? Asking for a country of friends already $35 trillion in debt.

    Notice how itโ€™s always 1938 and never 1914 (or 1871, 1853, 1956, 1968, etc).

Iโ€™m guessing the idea that youโ€™d have to show a govt ID to visit a military cemetery would have been repulsive to the people like my grandfather who fought for our freedom.

@POTUS is displaying real courage by sticking with a decision that remains prudential given the realities about Afghanistan and the United States.ย  Biden is showing the requisite realist spine that America needs at this moment.ย  And for that he should be praised, not damned.

What could have caused a year without a U.S. combat death in #Afghanistan? And what could end that streak? Thank you to the Trump administration, especially @US4AfghanPeace stripes.com/news/middle-eaโ€ฆ

If you want to understand the @PeteHegseth pick for SECDEF, recall what candidate Trump said at the Mayflower in 2016. I was there in the small audience and this memorable line stood out to me at the time. I haven't forgotten it since. And this is why Pete has the potential to

If you read the Axios piece and think the generals and bureaucrats are the good guys, you should rethink your commitment to democratic rule and liberal civil-military relations.....

If @realDonaldTrump delivers on this, it will be a huge win for the national interest. Given the normal incentives to maintain the status quo and some important elite opposition, it would also show political courage even as a majority of Americans right now support getting out.

Dream answer would be: "Not the job of U.S. troops to protect human rights around the world. Job is to secure America's homeland, protect the conditions of our economic security, and maintain our liberal democratic system here at home,"
