Last month, crews in Oshkosh conducted maintenance work and drone inspections on the WIS 21/Congress Avenue lift bridge. Drones allow staff to safely obtain comprehensive information about the condition of bridges while minimizing disruption to the traveling public.

WisDOT engineers inspect over 14,000 bridges at least once every two years. While the use of drones is becoming more common, we still use “snooper” trucks as well. If you see our inspection crews near bridges, please move over or slow down so they can do their jobs safely.
