Dear Bitcoiners
I decided to step down as Bitcoin Core maintainer and contributor.
The last years where amazing and I coded, discussed and learned so much!
I started contributing in 2013 and went full time in 2015. What a ride!
But now, it’s time for me to move on.

- #Bitcoin fees to high? Unusable? Hate it? Me too! Could not download a CD in the early 90ies? Hated it too! You have invested in early tech! Some people think and work day and night so solve this issue in a way Bitcoin can survive centuries! Have faith. Give us time.
- McDonalds implemented lightning before all major Bitcoin exchanges. Let that sink.
- Bitcoin is rat poison! Wait until people figure out who the rats are. 🚀
- If your car can be shut down remotely, it’s not your car.
- Replying to @_jonasschnelli_I’ll will hang around here and will continue to tweet interesting Bitcoin insights (and will not stop to criticize the loud bullies). … and who knows, I may start contributing again further down the road. ❤️
- The devs and minds behind #Bitcoin are in for the long term. They don't care if you "leave Bitcoin for XYZ reason". They even don't care (too much) if BTC drops to 10USD. They will continue to build the best decentralized peer to peer electronic cash system.
- That feeling you get when you wait on the airport, see a rasta dude trading a two digit amount of Bitcoins next to a random business guy reading about Bitcoin in a major newspaper... while you are working on a Bitcoin Core patch.
- Replying to @_jonasschnelli_You may ask, why step down now? What happened? Sometimes, interests shift and you can’t do much about it. On top, I feel that the legal risks for Bitcoin developers are increasing year by year (which can be stressful). New contributors should join anonymously (it’s tricky).

- Bitcoin is not just a “new currency”. It is a new way of thinking, planning and living.
