This reminds me of an HN comment from when the M1 came out with incredible benchmarks - “don’t worry software is going to eat up those gains within a couple years”

We're really excited to announce that Kobra got into @Replit ventures, and we can't wait to work with Replit's amazing team on Kobra!! We're building a visual programming language (like Scratch) for ML, and check out our demo video at kobra.dev/replit!

Criminals have been using sophisticated tools to steal cars. And Canadians are rightfully worried.   Today, I announced we are banning the importation, sale and use of consumer hacking devices, like flippers, used to commit these crimes. 🔗: canada.ca/en/public-safe…
    Readers added context
The flipper zero's sub-GHz wireless antenna can pick up the signals from car key fobs. However, playing them back to modern cars won't unlock them because of a feature called "rolling codes" that changes the code with each use. zdnet.com/article/7-cool…

this is probably one of the best analogies for why i love programming – it allows me to build magical projects with 100k+ visitors with just a laptop and an internet connection (and it might not even require a laptop w/ @replit on mobile)

tell them it's the closest thing to real magic that we have! literally like in harry potter. learn the right magic words to tell the computer in the correct order, and whatever you can dream will literally happen... as long as you get those magic words right :)...

“is it electric?” “it’s electric enabled! we have a rear view mirror, and ai based collision detection if something is coming up on you from behind “what do you call your project?” “bike thing” “you got it working last night?” “we got it working just now” nicely done

Hackathons are probably the main reason I'm in tech, and they are the first place I was able to find the creative side of CS I didn't find in the classroom, and I'm super excited to announce that I'm organizing HackWA – an IRL hackathon in Seattle: (RTs appreciated)
