Aang & Katara are the patriarch and matriarch of the entire elemental race of Air Nomads that will ever exist in the future. This also means that all Air Nomads will have Water Tribe lineage.
In order for an Airbender to become a master, they have to complete the 36 tiers of Airbending. Aang only mastered 35 tiers, but was given mastery over his invention of the Air Scooter
Aang being played by a woman in the Ember Island Play was an inside joke between the creators since, at the time, all male pre-teen characters were voiced by adult women
Roku is an example of the ideal Avatar. Most of them learned the 4 elements in their adulthood and took them decades to reach that status.
Aang & Korra were rare prodigies, not the norm
Is it just me or was Roku the least skilled out of all the avatars (that we’ve seen on screen)
While Korra and Aang both mastered all 4 elements at a young age.. this mf Roku was a whole ass 30 yo still learning how to Earthbend.
