Some insisted there had to be more to this story. He couldn't have been arrested just for posting a political meme. But he was. And now the sheriff admits to illegally withholding public records about the case.

This man remains in custody on a $2,000,000 bond for posting a political meme in a discussion about a Charlie Kirk vigil. However much offense it caused, there's no serious argument it was a threat. It's hard to see the arrest and charges as anything but politically motivated.

A Tennessee man was arrested for "threats of mass violence on school property" for posting this meme on Facebook criticizing Trump's comments about a previous school shooting. Insane.

The First Amendment protects the right of the press to report on law enforcement activity, in case you weren't aware.

So the AG is not only vowing to "go after" Americans for "hate speech," she's also threatening to prosecute businesses for refusing to create messages they disagree with. A nice one-two punch of censorship and compelled speech from the nation's top law enforcement officer.

Bondi: If you want to go and print posters with Charlie's picture for a vigil, you have to let them do that. We can prosecute you for that. We have right now our civil rights unit looking at that.

45 years in prison for criticizing the government on social media isn't that bad, I guess.

The implication of this incoherent and emotionally manipulative argument is that nobody — not even citizens — accused of a violent crime should get due process.

That doesn’t justify the FCC threatening to sanction ABC because of its late night host’s political commentary. Take it from you:

"You folks." I didn't cheer shit. In fact I'm on record raising concerns about that prosecution too.
