Fun update: I got tired of disliking every email client I’ve ever used and built my own. It’s called Exo (for exoskeleton). It’s Claude Code for my inbox. It manages my inbox for me, and it’s open source. Link to repo + some notable features in thread!

The answer is still computer science. What you see in the lack of tech jobs right now isn't the death of CS, it's the slow death of the last 20 years of big tech companies that are held back by their bloat in a new technological moment. There will be new ones.

If you were advising a widely-talented 17yo today who wanted the safest path to the upper middle class what college major would you recommend? I genuinely don't know. The world is changing a lot. It's probably not computer science. Maybe it's mechanical engineering or math?

Not sure where this guy is getting his stats but YC regularly backs Indian founders and I’d love to back many more. If you’re an Indian technical team, I’d encourage you to apply to YC. 🇮🇳 I’ll personally work to make sure you get a visa.

Absolutely the right take. People have wrongly complained about places like Harvard CS having “too much theory” forever. Turns out if you get the theory it’s not that hard to apply it. The reverse is not true. That + a culture of students working on side projects with their

This is not a particularly good take and is indicative of a fundamental misunderstanding of what a top-tier technical college education is suppose to offer. Preparing to understand modern AI as a Harvard or Stanford undergrad is not about learning "prompt engineering", vibe

This is an unfortunate position because while Amazon’s retail business shows signs of big tech monopoly that hurt the little guy, AWS is a story of how immense competition can drive down costs for the little guy. Nearly every company that was affected by that outage couldn’t

If a company can break the entire internet, they are too big. Period. It's time to break up Big Tech.
    Readers added context
AWS is not a monopoly. It represents 30% of the web. Sen. Warren also overlooks the fact that many providers went down because their services relied on a single AWS region, a malpractice that is not Amazon's fault. It did not affect Google, X, and many others. statista.com/chart/18819/wo… x.com/gergelyorosz/s… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redundanc… docs.aws.amazon.com/whitepapers/la…

YC took a bet on me almost 8 years ago and changed my life. The partners we worked with in building Reverie helped us navigate some of our hardest moments. I feel so fortunate to have a job helping the next generation of founders set out on their own incredible adventures.

We’re excited to welcome Ankit Gupta as YC’s newest General Partner. Ankit founded Reverie Labs (W18), a biotech startup using ML for drug discovery that was acquired by Ginkgo Bioworks, and has published research at ICML. Now he’s bringing that experience to support YC

YC is funding more AI research companies than ever before. I'm very excited to fund frontier research, including in companies that plan to stay in stealth. This upcoming batch, we are running a special cohort for companies like this. If you're a researcher and interested, you

My favorite thing about YC: every YC partner is a former YC visiting partner, and every visiting partner is a former YC founder. And we still write code.

Getting a new idea off the ground is tough. A trick: start with a minimum evolvable product. Some thoughts here.

Big day today at @Ginkgo: we're pulling back the curtain on our proprietary biological foundation models and launching a model API! Our API will support private and open models, and we're pricing it competitively to enable others to build on top of it. Details in 🧵👇
