    Hypertension is caused by excessive salt in the blood stream. It is not due to dietary salt but salt retention by kidneys. Insulin is known to cause reabsorption of salt by kidneys. Elevated serum insulin cause hypertension. Keep your serum insulin low by restricting carbs.
