the most gender euphoria i have experienced recently is from this conservative reply guy affirming my nonbinary-ness

The comment section has a reply that says "What gender is that thing in blue?"

a regular reminder that on most fast-moving arterial roads and busy car-sewer streets, most of the noise you hear are from the tires rolling along pavement, not motor noise

Niall Horan had to walk to his own concert in Toronto due to traffic: “In all of the years playing shows, I don’t think I’ve ever walked to a venue”

unlike this blud, i live in toronto. my office is on bloor. over 70% of ppl travelling on bloor are on transit, foot, or bike, *not* driving. people are delivering parcels, food, and commuting between school, work, home on bloor. bike lanes save lives & are good for the economy.

making IBX, the first significant orbital rapid transit line in new york, a low-floor light rail line would be a mistake. instead of building a modern, world-class high capacity line like anywhere else, nyc is locking into a typical light rail to avoid *one* grade separation /1

i want to remind paris urbanists that the most deeply affordable parts of paris where hundreds of thousands of parisians live often look like this:
towers alliaud in nanterre, paris. they're several high rise towers made up of cylindrical columns and painted in blue, white, red, and green.

something interesting about cities like nyc, toronto, montreal and cdmx is that they have built significant amount of ridership from the induced demand fueled by low wait times. headways of 2-6 minutes all day provides a certain level of turn-up-and-go convenience that 1/3

montreal now has canada's largest rapid transit system, with 86 km of metro (now with the rem open) montreal's metro system, as of early 2023, was already the busiest in canada and the 3rd busiest in north america after nyc and cdmx what a wonderful place for transit

a news video screenshot showing a blue metro train at a station. one of the cars is an engine with doors and windows painted on. there are some people on the platform, which is sunlit

lots of congestion and delayed 510 buses, stuck behind single-occupancy cars at bloor and spadina. spadina doesn't have any bike lanes, only traffic lanes. meanwhile on bloor street, cyclists whizz by. it's clear - bike lanes don't cause congestion. cars do, they always do.
