    Both at Ramp and at Unify, I’ve seen that velocity comes from organizing the company into pods of 3-4 people tackling ambitious projects that align with your north star goals. One person needs to be clearly empowered as the pod lead with ultimate decision-making power.

    at a startup people flock to the “sexy” and easy to solve problems. one of the simplest ways to differentiate yourself is to work on the hardest, hairiest problems you can find. when you succeed you put yourself in a different league.

    996 grind culture is overrated. It's easy to pack a calendar with meetings and projects and feel busy, but much harder to prioritize well and work on the right things. Startups aren't about hours - they're about impact. No points for busywork.
